Michael Sopher grew up in a Latino neighbrohood in Los Angeles
and started cooking in Northern California at the age of 16. After
spending 20 years in service and kitchens, and using the expertise
acquired at top San Francisco restaurants, he opened Tropisueño
as a tribute to his love and passion for Mexican cuisine.
Erin grew up in the restautrant industry and spent 30 years
in the finest restaurants in both Napa Valley and San Francisco,
(Aqua, La Folie, Fifth Floor, among others). Her addiction to
Mexican food and culture led her to open Tropisueño, and now
El Gusano, with Michael.
Milthon Sandoval, originally from Honduras, spent 15 years in the
San Francisco restaurant scene and has a great passion for restaurants.
He has worked extensively in both front and back of the house.
His wife Erica is also an industry vetran, born in San Francisco, and
is in love with her Mexican heritage and its varied cuisine.
Eduardo Cardenas, from Mexico City, is part owner of El Gusano,
first restauant, at the ripe old age of 21.
